The result of a run in with an unlabeled, already operating duplication spell. Unfortunately, a spell in progress doesn't look like anything in particular. It wasn't meant for a living being either and the "clone" tried to kill him as it had no actual mind to speak of. He ended up needing its organs, and it's fused to him now to create this current messed up but unified whole.

And that is why hazards must have labels. Or something.
